How to Prepare References
Normally, when you are into the final stages of the job offer an employer will either ask for references to check or ask the recruiter to do it.
Think long and hard about who would best represent you to a future employer. These people should be totally knowledgeable of who you are, thoughtful and mature. They should include subordinates, peers, supervisors and outside suppliers.
Most people forget your references can be a big help to assessing whether you’ll flourish in the new job. Whenever I talk to a reference, I go for two levels of their perspective. The first has to do with an individual’s performance and the environment they work in.
